Bro, do you even liftoff?
From the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! :
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department posed a fair question along with incredible photos of a recent crash: What happens when you try to make your limited production $385,000 Ferrari fly?
“Nothing good.”
Several AFD C-shift crews were called to the crash on Friday, Jan. 13 around 2:30 a.m. at the 3300 block of Redbud Trail. A witness told firefighters the car was traveling at more than 100 miles per hour as it passed over the bridge on Redbud Trail headed toward Westlake Drive.
The Ferrari driver, 28-year-old James Allen, missed his first turn — “no surprise there,” AFD said — and drove straight into the woods, going airborne for about 40 feet. The car then flipped over in the air and landed on its side, down a 40-foot ravine.
The three vehicle occupants had only minor injuries. Allen was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence. According to city records, Allen had been out at Steampunk Saloon on 6th Street prior to the crash.
Looks to me like it was a 458...which only has 2 seats.

Just because it works in Hollywood doesn’t mean it’ll work in real life.

That’s one way to get your picture in the paper I guess.

I wonder if they have the location wrong, there’s no bridge near 3300, but there is a bridge over the lake near the dam, followed by a 15mph curve, where people crash all the time (and I nearly did in the rain once despite only going 15mph). But there’s no ravine there. I think redbud intersects westlake twice though, so maybe it happened further down.

Good to know there are people out there still living a proper Ferrari life. You know...overprivileged playboy douchebags. Its just nice to know that his passengers didn’t have to pay the price for his rock and roll lifestyle. Modern crash standards for the win. On the other hand...the driver is still out there, and presumably has enough cash to make this happen again.

To be fair, the flying was successful ... it was the landing that was a bit rough.

No worries, I am sure he can bootstrap his way out of trouble and into a new car. Maybe a Lambo next time brah.

Came here for this, left satisfied.

And they walked away from it, which by airplane standards makes it a success.

According to the description, the witness accounts and the street signs in that image, this [
MAP
] is where the accident happened.
(the address in the article puts it a mile or two further down the road)
Edit, I just read this part: “The three vehicle occupants....”
What an asshole.

Looks about right. You should shop that overlay around to the major networks.

Yeah, that’s the same curve this happened to me on:
I don’t think they could’ve been doing 100 over the bridge though, it’s bumpy AF even at 30-35mph in a normal car. 50-60? Plausible.

The car flew beautifully. It was the landing that was a fail.
